Becky Edmunds trained as a dancer and choreographer at Laban Centre London (1988), along with Michael Mayhew, she formed the live art company, Mayhew and Edmunds, in Manchester. Becky has collaborated with artists and organisations to realise a range of video projects, including Station House Opera, Rosemary Lee, Blast Theory, Gill Clarke, Fiona Wright, Girl Jonah, Charlie Morrissey and Scott Smith, Arts Council England, South East Dance, Independent Dance and Springdance (NL). In 2013 she collaborated with dance artist Fiona Wright to create Distant Wars, a video installation which was nominated for Light Moves Festival prize in 2014. Becky’s feature length documentary about American choreographer Deborah Hay, Turn Your F**king Head has been published on DVD by Routledge. From 2010–2015 Becky collaborated with fellow artist Lucy Cash, under the company name of stray bird, they co-directed moving image projects, innovative curations and co-teaching of workshops. 2015 they directed the film Hawkers Pick Over Fruit Here, which was presented at ONCA Gallery as part of Cinecity. Becky is an Associate Artist with Blast Theory.
