Dean studied dance from a young age and after taking part in the Centre For Advanced Training scheme at Trinity Laban and a Diploma at Cornwall College went on to study at the University of Chichester. Throughout this time he created numerous choreographies and toured with 3fall Dance Company. It was during this time that his choreographic focus shifted from the stage to film. During his final year Dean created Three Familiar States of Loneliness an inter-medial project that drew references from Francis Bacon and Alfred Hitchcock. Film, projection and dance were used to create the work. Since university Dean has moved to Brighton and continues to make short fIlms hoping to combine his interests in film, music and dance.
